It was a fast paced high intensity game between Roscommon and Galway in the Lidl ladies league.
However, despite the best efforts of Finbar Egan's side, Roscomony fell to a six-point defeat in Tuam Stadium.
It was an incredibly tight opening to the game with neither side able to take command for the opening 20 minutes. However, Kate Slevin’s late penalty had Galway ahead at the break.
That goal gave Galway the momentum to race into a 1-14 to eight point lead in the opening 10 minutes of the second-half.
However, an Abby Curran goal fired Roscommon back into the game and gave them a chance.
Indeed, Galway showed the relevant game management to see it out and seal victory. The Roscommon side now look forward to their next game in two week’s at home to Donegal.
Galway scoring a 1-17 to 1-14 victory.
