St. Brigid’s finished strong to seal a place in the Roscommon SFC semi-final with victory over Strokestown in Ballyforan.
The sides were locked 12 points to 1-9 at the second water break, but Brigids found 1-4 in the final quarter to win out 1-16 to 1-11.
Brigid’s had started better but Fionn Cuasck’s much needed goal dragged Strokestown back into the game. Brigid’s led eight points to 1-4 at half-time.
A tight third quarter prevailed with Brigid’s leading 0-12 to 1-9 at the water break. Brigid’s had more in the locker in the final quarter.
Eddie Nolan’s point just after the water break but some day light between the sides as Brian Derwin’s goal moved Brigid’s clear as they won out 1-16 to 1-11.
The defending champions will face Padraig Pearses or Boyle in the semi-finals.
