St Dominic’s missed out on a Connacht club intermediate football title after losing 1-16 to 1-13 to Dunmore MacHales at Kiltoom.
St. Dominic’s started impressively and led 0-4 to 0-2 inside the opening 12 minutes but 60 seconds later, Shane McGrath’s penalty goal gave Dunmore a one-point lead.
The sides traded four points each during the remainder of the half as St. Dominic’s trailed 1-6 to 0-8 at half-time.
Brendan O’Meara brought the sides level on 46 minutes but Dunmore dominated the scoring exchanges thereafter and ran out three-point winners.
Cian Kelly scored a last-gasp goal for St. Dominic’s but they still came up short.
