Killoe Emmet Og bowed out of the Leinster senior championship after a 10 point defeat to St Lomans.
The Westmeath champions blew the Longford champions out of the water early on, winning out 1-20 to 1-10.
The sides were one-point each after four minutes. Danny McCartan and Denis McGoldrick exchanging scores, before the Loman’s surge exploded.
At the end of the first quarter, Loman’s led 1-7 to 0-1. Danny and Sam McCartan and John Heslin adding points to Lomans sore. Ronan O’Toole found the Killoe net on 13 minutes.
Sam McCartan and Shane Dempsey making it 1-7 on 15 minutes. Both Sam and Dempsey added points each before Killoe’s next score.
22 minutes were Paddy Moran with Killoe’s second of the game quickly followed by Mickey Quinn.
Shane Dempsey added another Loman’s point a minute into injury time as Lomans led 1-10 to 0-3 at half-time.
Dempsey opened the second-half scoring after 60 seconds. Killoe tried a comeback with two points in a row from Daniel Mimnagh and Mark Hughes. However John Heslin immediately responded.
Mark Hughes and Ronan McGoldrick pulled back two points for Killoe making it 0-7 to 1-14 entering the third-quarter. Killoe were reduced to 14-men when Cian Dooner saw the line for an off the ball incident.
St. Loman’s didn’t let up Heslin added two frees while Sam McCartan added one from play, making it a 14-point game with six minutes to play.
Second Red Card
Colm Coyle, pulled a point back for Killoe with Daniel Mimnagh finding the Loman’s net five minutes from time. However, any hope of a comeback was snuffed out when Danny McCartan made it a 10-point game moments later.
Killoe were reduced to 13 men when Colm Coyle received a straight red card. John Heslin rounded out the game with a point as Lomans won out 1-20 to 1-10.
