St. Mary’s Kiltoghert waltzed into the Leitrim senior football semi-final with a five points win over Leitrim Gaels.
St. Mary’s winning out 2-12 to 1-10 in a game they controlled for long periods. Indeed, St. Mary’s led by six at half-time. 1-7 to four points.
Brian Kearney opened the scoring for the Carrick side inside the opening 60 seconds. In fact they were three points to one-up after 14 minutes. Ben Guckian kicking their third score of the day.
Conor Hacket and Diarmuid Kelliher added points before Cian Singleton’s 20th minute goal made it 1-5 to one point. Oisin Bohan added a further point to make it an eight point game.
Frank Cullen, Eunan Tracey responded for the Gaels. Paul Keaney wrapped up Kiltoghert’s first half scoring. Whereas, Aidan Flynn’s point in the third minute of injury time had St. Mary’s 1-7 to 0-4 ahead at half-time.
Stephen Goldrick (2), Ben Guckian and Oisin Bohan extended St. Mary’s lead by the 10th minute of the second-half. Paddy Keane opening Gaels second-half account on the 41st minute.
However, any chance of a comeback was ruled out when Adam Reynolds found the net a minute later making it 2-9 to seven points.
David Regan rattled in a goal in response making it a five point game. However, St. Mary’s killed the game. Paul Keaney’s free making it a six point game with three minutes remaining.
A free and point from Oisin Curley plus a Conor Guckian helped Leitirm Gaels home as points from St. Mary’s Cllian Hannratty and Brian Keaney saw Mary’s to a 2-12 to 1-10 win.
