St. Michael’s missed out on a Connacht junior football semi-final place following a 1-13 to 0-10 defeat to Menlough at Tuam Stadium.
Fiachra Henry gave St. Michael’s a one-point lead ten minutes in but Menlough restored parity within 60 seconds.
Menlough’s Sean Hansberry found the net on 11 minutes and the Galway side held on to lead 1-6 to 0-5 at half-time.
Henry made it a three-point game ten minutes after the restart before Menlough responded with four successive scores.
The Galway side were now seven points clear 12 minutes from time, a lead which ultimately proved unassailable.
