St Ronan’s missed out on a Connacht club junior football title following a 1-16 to 0-10 defeat at the hands of Clifden at Dr. Hyde Park.
Enda Conneely’s goal on 13 minutes saw Clifden lead 1-4 to 0-2 and by half-time the West Galway men were eight points clear, 1-9 to 0-4.
St. Ronan’s rallied briefly after the restart and brought it back to a six-point game. Clifden were still the dominant side however and never looked like falling behind.
John Keavney, Alan Benson and Gary O’Daly were the main scorers for St. Ronan’s who suffered a nine-point defeat in the end.
