Strokestown defence of their Roscommon senior football championship title came to a dramatic end.
Oran scored a major victory with a 1-19 to 1-7 win over defending champions Strokestown.
The result, coupled with Clann na nGael’s victory over Tulsk Lord Edwards, means Strokestown cannot progress to the quarter-final.
Strokestown led 1-9 at half-time. However, Oran took control in the second-half, Ciaran Lawless equalising seven minutes after the restart.
Points from Charlie Carthy, Darragh Walsh (free) and James Fitzpatrick moved Oran 12 points to 1-6 clear on 44 minutes.
Oran moved further ahead with a goal a minute later from Charlie Carty. Strokestown responded with their only point of the half a minute later.
Further, Oran points from Mark Gunning, Darragh Walsh, Charlie Carthy (3, two free’s), Evan Keane and Darragh Walsh saw Oran home to an 11-point win.
Elsewhere, in group c, Clann na nGael made it two wins from two in the Hodson Bay Hotel Roscommon senior football championship.
Clann contiunued their impressive start with a 3-14 to 1-8 victory over Tulsk Lord Edwards. Clann were always in control leading nine points to two at half-time.

The results with one round of games remaining means Clann na nGael and Oran progress to the quarter-finals from group C. The sides meet on Friday September first to decide who wins the group.
At the same time, Tulsk face Strokestown. The loser will face a relegation play-off to the intermediate championship as both sides have zero points from two games.
