Longford Town gained a valuable point in the SSE Airtricty premier league last night (Monday) with a draw against Dundalk at Bishopsgate, but it could have been all 3 as the home side lead 2 nil before allowing the Lilywhites back into the game. Town had wentl ahead with Dylan Grimes fifth minute shot evading Dundalk goal keeper Peter Cherrie and another Cherrie blunder allowed Rob Manley double town's advantage on 14 minutes. Dundalk pulled one back before the break when Junior found the net however the Town looked like they might hold out, until Chris Shields leveled with 8 minutes remaining.
While it may have been 2 points dropped Longford boss Daire Doyle was pleased to have gotten something out of the game
The result still sees Longford 2nd from bottom ahead of Waterford on goal difference.
