Roscommon U20 boss Liam Tully admits the pain of last year’s final defeat is gone as his side lifted the Connacht title.
Tully’s 2020 Under-20s were hammered by Galway 4-13 to five points last March and Tully admitted the pain is now only resolved.
“We left Tuam last year knowing we were a better team than that” declared Tully.
“We went down to a gallant and fantastic team that deservedly won the All-Ireland but we knew and they knew that wasn’t the score between us”.
“We were badly wounded and badly hurt, but the scares healed but the pain was still there. But today the pain is gone”.
Tully praised his forwards as Roscommon found scored 2-6 in the second-half to out power Mayo. Left half-forward Daire Cregg sent over five points including three frees.
“Good forwards, miss lost, but the great forward will decide if they miss to go again and get the score” decreed Tully.
