Northern Irelands Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon has announced her decision to recommend planning approval for the new stadium at Casement Park in Belfast.
As a result, the Ulster Council will be able to build a new 34,578 capacity stadium on their existing site on the Andersonstown Road.
Planning permission and development of the site has been held up for almost 10 years following objections by local residents.
While the building of the new stadium will be seen as a positive for the GAA, it will come as a blow to Clones in Monaghan, who have been the home of the Ulster football final, with it now been moved to the new venue when it is completed.
Announcing the decision, the Minister noted it's a hugely significant moment:
