Longford Town slumped to a 13th defeat of the season as Waterford scored a 3-0 win in Bishopsgate.
10-man Longford lost further ground on a play-off place on the night where Galway United won the first division title.
Ryan Burke gave Waterford the lead on 11 minutes with a delightful run and shot from 20-yards.

The hosts came closest to an equaliser on 32 minutes. Bastian Hery’s cross found Adam Wixted. Wxited header was straight at Waterford keeper Sam Sargeant.
Longford however never really threatened Waterford in the second-half. In fact it was Town who were reduced to 10 when Hery collected a second yellow card on 61 minutes.
Waterford got their second on 67 minutes. Cameron Cresswell drilled the ball across the six-yard box. Ronan Coughlan’s effort was deflected into the net by a Longford Town defender.
The visitors made it three 12 minutes from time. Town didn’t deal with Connor Parsons corner. Christie Pattisson applied the close range finish.
There was more goals there for Waterford! Roland Idowu rattled the post five minutes from time as Waterford won out 3-0.
Galway United declared champions
The result all but ends Longford Town’s hopes of making the play-offs after results elsewhere. Waterford and Cobh Ramblers have now claimed two of the four spots. Cobh claiming a spot beating Finn Harps 5-1.
Whereas, Longford now find themselves seven points off the final play-off place as fifth placed Wexford beat Bray Wanders 2-1. Wexford host Longford on Monday.
Treaty United draw level on points with Longford after thrashing Athlone Town 4-1. Athlone are one point clear of Wexford in fifth place.
Elsewhere, Galway United were confirmed as first division champions with a 1-0 win away to Kerry.
Meanwhile, UCD were relegated to next season's first division after a scorelss draw with Shamrock Rovers.
