Wicklow landed their second win of the season as Longford look destined for another year in division four.
Oisin McConville’s side scoring a nine point victory, they were well worth for.
Longford started well with an Oran Kenny point. However, Wicklow hit back with four quick-fire scores in a row through Chris O'Brien, Nolan, Mark Kenny and Nolan again.
Longford fought back through a Matthew Carey free and a Dessie Reynolds point.
However, Kevin Quinn scored the hosts first point in 20 minutes before Joe Prendergast found himself dragged down in the Longford box.
Eoin Darcy’s penalty was stopped by Paddy Collum, before O’Brien followed up the rebound for a Wicklow goal.
Matthew Carrey sent over a two-pointed free as Longford but Wicklow finished the half strong. Padraig O’Toole, Kevin Quinn and Chris O’Brien landed points each as Wicklow led 1-8 to six points at half-time.
The hosts built on their first-half lead JP Nolan added his second two pointer of the half, moving Wicklow further ahead. Joe Prendergast grabbed a Wicklow goal and the game was as good as over.
Points from Matthew Carrey Dessie Reynolds and Aaron Farrell gave Longford some hope.
But a Kevin Quinn free and a John Paul Nolan point meant Wicklow maintained a comfortable lead.
Wicklow sending Longford to their second defeat of the season 2-15 to 12 points.
