Brian Keenan gave his tips to the Joe Finnegan show this year’s Cheltenham festival. Here are Brian’s tips for day four.
4:00 - Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase
Galopin Des Champs is favourite here and I think it will be his big day. However, his odds are too short.
I think a good one is No.6 “Inothewayurthinkin” is a good bet. I think he’s been waiting for a big run out and I’d say he will be second to Galopin.
1:20 JCB Triumph Hurdle
There are two stand outs here No. 3 “East India Dock” is a real favourite with No. 7 Lulamba. A good 25/1 each way, who might be third or fourth bet is no. 13 Willy De Houelle.
2:00 William Hill County Handicap Hurdle
This one is over two miles, Joseph O’Brien has no.2 "Absurde" There’s a bigger price on no.4 “Ethical Diamond” ridden by Patrick Mullins. I’ll go for No.13 “Lark In The Mornin” to win
2:40 Mrs Paddy Power Mares' Chase (Registered As The Liberthine Mares' Chase)
As the name says, this race is for mares over bigger fenches.
No. 1 “Dinoblue” is hot favourite. Again a Willie Mullins horse he had a chance of a lot of winners.
I’ll tip No.4 “Allegorie De Vassy” to take second at 4/1
3:20 Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle
A three mile race, which is wide open and any one could win it. It was won by Gordon Elliot last year, who’s had a bad year this time out without a winner at Cheltenham.
I’m going to go for A Willie Mullins horse no.9 “Jasmin De Vaux” I think he’ll be good enough, but each way, the prizes are all big.
4:40 St. James's Place Festival Challenge Cup Open Hunters' Chase
This race is kind of for smaller yards and smaller horses. No.24 Angels Dawn is my tip for this one.
5:20 Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle
The final race of the Cheltenham festival and I’m going for another Willie Mullins horse, No.8 “Kopeck De Mee” with a big prize horse no. 12 “Act Of Authority” at 25/1 to finish in the first four.
